Windows 7 can't use desktop!

Alright I check the process' and explorer is running. I thought that might be the problem. I ran a couple free programs hoping they might find something and nothing worked. I heard of some virus with a S in its name I forget the name, that makes your desktop useless. I can't right click or left click on any icons. I can't move icon's. It's nut's but I'm not a techie so hopefully this will be an easy solution for someone. This laptop's brand new so I really hope that It's not something serious.
