Hi, i bought a packard bell pc almost 1 year ago. Here it is

The thing that concerns me is that the motherboard is not the greatest (it dosn't have a PCI-E (when i get a good graphics card!!). What other motherboards would you folks suggest that fit inside my case. I just want to change mother board, nothing else (yet). So the RAM needs to fit new one. Here is the mother boards actual site:

Also what do you think of my RAM. It's 2gb (2x1gb), but its 2.5 V DIMM DDRAM (is that great?).

Cheerz!
:D

P.S: I think my mobo has onboard sound, so ill probaly end up buyin a new sound card

But can my current memory fit into it?

Eeeeeek

Found this

Packard Bell PC's with a version of Windows XP preinstalled make use of the System Locked Preinstallation (SLP) activation method. In this process, Windows XP determines from the motherboard whether it is installed on a genuine Packard Bell system. Therefore, you can upgrade or install any component in your PC (except for the motherboard!) without having to reactivate Windows XP afterwards.

No, your current memory won't work in a DDR2 system. Don't worry about it, your memory is just fine.

I don't see that reactivating XP will be a problem. You just do it over the 'net or a simple toll free call will get you up and running again.

I'm not sure microsoft will support it, since it's a modified packard bell version. I will have too contact packardbell's support about it. WPABALN.exe controls it, and that aint hard to crack, or at least not in sp1. Anyway ive got plenty of spare Windows xp OS lying around...

Im not sure i will bother to get DDR2, or atleast not yet since that will probaly be rather expensive to get 2gb for. Anyway my current RAM is good.

Thanks
:)
