ValveÂ’s popular pay-per-download service Steam is experiencing difficulties this morning thanks to a heavy winter storm in the Seattle area. At this point it looks as though everything is functioning but the purchasing system itself.



A real-life storm currently buffeting the Pacific Northwest has put the Steam servers temporarily out of commission, rendering gameplay and access to the forums impossible.

yep I am out of power at the very moment. running our house off of a 4000 watt generator, and a 5500 watt generator. My room is 55 deg.

We live 45 minutes south of seattle, and we got power back the day after the storm at like 2:30 in the afternoon. Our power grid is fairly new so I imagine that is one of the reasons why it was so easy to fix. We did lose like 10 shingles off our roof, that was the worst of it for us.
