Russia vs. US

I have become deeply interested in Russia's tech advancement in the context of a new cold war.

Specifically how Russia being the largest European Market and already the largest European economy will without an embargo begin to dictate the data center and tech market in the former Soviet Union first and from there project that into Europe..

Controlling such a market is important as nations understand that security concerns hinge upon where their data is stored.

Any country without sufficient data storage of its own will become dependent upon the country that does store their data.

For this reason if a cold war metastasizes then the US and Russia will compete for providing data storage services and may even begin to sabotage others' Data centers.

Already Russia is seeking the ability to sever itself completely from a Global Internet and soon we may see two global internets.

One on the Western side and one on the anti-western side.

These trends in tech are as important as innovations in conventional and strategic weapons because tech is where businesses wage war.

And both Russia AND China have hackers regularly trying to hack the U.S. and that's just the governments.

Russia and China also form an anti-american military and economic alliance.

So both are a threat but Russia is further along the tech scale.
