Printer setup

I have a Tally T9216.
Historically this has worked fine with the gutenprint generic pcl 5 driver on multiple opensuse boxes (including this one).
I have just upgraded the disk on this box and reinstalled the os but I have got to the printer and I'm getting the error:

/usr/bin/lp: Unsupported document-format "application/postscript".

when trying to do a test print (locally).

I've obviously tried google but the things that they're talking about don't seem to apply to either my working server or my not-working server.

Solved!

I think that somewhere inside the filter system there is something that uses perl but this was not installed I installed perl, rebooted and it worked (at least I think that's what did it).
