Laptop of TabletPC?
In the fall of 2005, I will be a freshman at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Civil Engineering. As a requirement, we must purchase our own computer, a portable computer being the best. The computing policy and requirements can be found at:
http://www.eng.uc.edu/resources/col...oc/Revised Student Owned Computing Policy.htm
and
http://www.eng.uc.edu/resources/college/collegecomputing/soc/minreq/MinimumRequirement2005.htm
respectively.
I am currently trying to decide between a Dell Latitude D810 or an Acer TravelMate C314. The Dell offers better performance, but the Acer is lighter and easier to manage. Both systems have nearly the same cost after changing the capabilities to meet my needs. I would like these computers to last the five (5) years that I will be in the engineering program, but after talking to the director, that doesn't seem like a possibility.
Can anyone help me make my decision, and why?
