Makes sense for PCs but not for media players, like I have a 32GB which is almost full with MP3s, going with all FLAC wouldn't be a good idea for me :p

Yes, but as storage increases and SSDs get cheaper and bigger, it won't be a problem.
 
I'd rather not have one proprietary format taking over from another, ogg FTW.
"lyrics, news updates and image" No thanks. Firstly id3 already exists, why not use something when it is already the standard? Secondly I don't want any of that stuff, I don't even want all the stuff that id3 allows...
