hi! i just recently got a new gaming pc with the following specs:
processor: AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X6 1100T Black Edition Six-Core CPU at 3.3GHz
Asetek 550LC Liquid CPU Cooling System (AMD)
video card: AMD Radeon HD 6970 - 2GB
memory: 8gb
mobo: ASUS M4A87TD EVO -- AMD 870 w/ 2x PCI-E 2.0 x16
sound card: Asus Xonar DX
monitor: 27" LCD 1920x1080 -- Sceptre X270W-1080P
nothing overclocked

everything seems to be working great except i'm noticing one thing when i open up my games at high res: the mouse is lagging (slow response to mouse movement, feels like it's "under water"). i've had that happen before on crap pc's that don't have the hardware to run stuff, but this is supposed to max out pretty much any game out there right now right? i mean, a 2005 game (nfs most wanted) ran at 1600x1200 is doing this! so i ran a few quick benchmark tests....

nfs most wanted 1600x1200
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
1337, 44915, 18, 43, 29.767

nfs hot pursuit 1920x1080:
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
10998, 199110, 33, 61, 55.236

witcher 2 1024x768:
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
6025, 110761, 31, 65, 54.396

oblivion 1024x768:
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
4241, 80759, 27, 64, 52.514

(all games on max video settings)

so i understand these are pretty decent results right (well except for most wanted which sucks ***)? in almost all of these games i suffer from said "mouse lag". my drivers are all up do date and idk what else to do, so can somebody help me out? or is my hardware really not fast enough to play these games at those settings? what would you all recommend? if any additional info is needed please let me know, and thanks for your time!

While you have a nice system if you wanted a gaming system you should of chosen a fast quad core cpu instead of a 6-core cpu. Four cores at 3.8GHz will outperform six cores at 3.3GHz, in gaming, everyday.

yeah im positive that it's nothing to do with mouse sensitivity

so it's the cpu then? nothing i can do? maybe overclocking or something... but im an overclock noob and i dont want to cause any hardware damage...

Welll I'm not going to say it has to be your cpu, but most modern gpu's will experience some bottlenecking with a cpu clocked below 3.6 to 3.8GHz. Overclocking your cpu will improve your fps, but I'm not up on AMD overclocking to advise you.

found the problem. it was v sync that was causing this, turned it off and overclocked cpu to 3.8 and now ripping through everything at highest resolutions with fps no less than 50. thanks for ur input!
