Hi I wonder if anyone has any ideas?
I have an oldish but trusty Audigy platinum card and I have bought a turntable to digitise some old vinyl. The turntable is connected to Aux IN 2.
I have a problem in that when I listen to LPs though the sound card they sound great (crackly but very bright). Whenever I record them I seem to lose the brightness - they go dull and lose high frequencies. I have tried recording in Wavelab (24 bit/44K) and Audacity. Wavelab seems subjectively worse than audacity. As far as I know no effects are turned on and the record volume is at peak about -8db.
Thanks for your help
Steve
