You know what has come in REALLY handy for me? The USB Swiss Army Knife I got as a gift from my Ex-Girlfriend! Wow I have this thing loaded with spyware removal tools, virus software and all kinds of neat hacking utilities it holds a lot for 512MB!

you're gonna need a crimper and you're gonna wanna be able to make cat5e cables in about 10 seconds

crossover cables can be used for a direct link between two ethernet adapters or they are used with the "uplink" ports of two or more switches when using "cascading". uplink ports are somewhat redundant now though with more and more switches featuring autosensing where either a crossover or a patch cable can be used

i can make the cable! i learned how! nowi just need to go get an Rj45 crimper. and Cat5e cables, and rj45 heads, lol.

i was joking. you can't actually make cat5e cable yourself. you can make a network cable be it a patch or a crossover using it though, but the cable itself you buy.
