Going to need a little bit more information on what the computer will be used for and what your budget is.

Budget aprx:600$? 700$?
my computer is mostly needed for playing recent games and editing videos
Since Adobe After effects cs3 takes a huge amount of RAM to render its videos i'll say I need good amount of memory.

Well with your budget I suggest going with AMD cpu/mobo, perhaps something along the lines of a Phenom II X4 955 b.e., with whatever combo deal you can get it with a decent compatible motherboard. RAM I suggest you buy 4GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM, should be enough and if you find you need more (which I doubt you will) you can always order more in the future. What Operating System you running?

I will most likely get my self the new Windows 7, upgrading from my old machine which was running Windows XP. Vista wasn't for me.

Vista was a failure. I like Windows 7 so far, except one of my builds is having driver issues with it. It's still definitely an upgrade over Vista.

Oh yeah I am planning to buy one of those Windows 7 family pack for 3 Pc's it will go on my PCs. Anyway at this moment I need to get a PCU+mobo I am having troubles finding a trusted one that will work together.

If you got ideas please don't hesitate to send me them because this is a build that needs to be done before Jan 1st. Thank you - John..
