If you have a descent heat sink, you'll be fine. Mine is set to 3200+ and it runs pretty low, but I have a lot of air flow in the case. Swiftech, Thermalright and Thermaltake are pretty much the best.
The 2500+ over clocks very nicely. It's only running at 1.83, so bumping up the speed is fairly easy and safe.
