slow internet/some sites don't load at all

I'm still having trouble loading facebook.com. It's weird, because if I let it sit around loading long enough, it will load, but the home page looks like it's missing a CSS file. I can access the page fine directly though the modem, but not through the router. I have no idea what could be...

slow internet/some sites don't load at all

I just tried bypassing the router and plugging straight into the modem, and all the sites I was having trouble with now load fine. I think the firmware on the router is up to date, so what should I do? EDIT: just checked the firmware; it's the latest version (by the way my router is a Linksys...

slow internet/some sites don't load at all

I have a wireless router (Linksys WRT54G v. 5 w/ latest firmware) connected to a cable modem (Terayon). The internet connection is shared between a wireless desktop and a wireless laptop (both running Windows XP). Recently my internet went out (because cable sucks). I tried power cycling the...

problems with 2 column CSS page

Actually, I think that if instead of setting the #textblock div height to something over 100%, I could add a scroll bar to the textblock div and a footer. That would probably make it look decent in Internet Explorer. (If I set the textblock height to 100%, in some of the pages, the text goes...

problems with 2 column CSS page

alright I changed to navbar height and it fixed it. Thanks! The page is up now at www.bradyounglaw.com. Unfortunately it looks pretty bad in Internet Explorer. I think I'm going to have a main page where you can choose if you want to view an IE version of the page or a Firefox version.

Lookin for advice on a new laptop

Laptops dont have PCI slots that I know of, but I think it is possible to replace/upgrade a laptop video card yourself (google it), although it may void your warranty. You should look through Dell's laptops again; you could definately get a good gaming laptop for 1000-1500 dollars...

zonealarm - blocked DNS server and windows 32 services

I've got Spy Sweeper and Norton Antivirus 2006, so I'm not worried about viruses, I'm just more worried about hackers. For some reason I can still go to websites even with the DNS server blocked...

I wonder what the average upload speed is in Japan though, since your download would only be as fast as the hosts upload.
