nope, no luck.. although, the drive does seem to power up a little now, and the HD light is always on..

i have used powermax, but it doesnt work, as well as a plethora of disk managment/diagnostic tools. POwer max simply doesnt detect the drive, so i cant run any tests. Yeah, i have been leaning towards the IDE cable, i think im gonna go out and buy a new one now.. its in a snug as they can go...

hey, im having a similar problem with a maxtor 120gb i just bought, it sounds like it is your jumpers as on certain settings mine also caps at 33gb, if you simply remove the jumper it will default as slave, which should make it work..
