well, ans AMD XP2800+ is 2.08GHZ (i beleive the 64-bit one is abit more) so compared to a P4 the frequency is low, but AMD does more operations per cycle. so in the end, it does less cycles (mhz) but does more with does cycles

He probably has an ECS K7S5A Pro board, they support up to a AMD 2400+ (133FSB) and they take either SD or DDR ram (one of the last board to do so!). And if u paid $600 for that u got ript off buddy!! that systeme is worth $450 at most!

first, it's IDE not EIDE, and go to any computer store with your budget and theyll sell u the best thing u can get

use the PCI card as they said for the extra IDE cables, and for the PS, if u dont have enough plugs, buy some Y splitter, that's it that's all

the 680's are AMAZING for a small room, where as a home theatre is made for a bigger area. I use my 680's as my home theatre systeme in my bedroom and it works like a charm, but it wouldnt be to good in a bigger room.

it goes VCC, - , + , GND. Vcc being on the far left. Your first row of pins will have an extra unused pin at the far right wich is ok, leave it like that!

Yep, it would work no probleme. On my systeme I have 2 ATA and 1 SATA working like a charm.

get a better powersupply. The p/s that comes with those cheap case are REALLY cheap!!!! There true wattage is actually 100W less then what they state it is. So if you don't want a fried computer in 2 months, get an Antec/Enermax 350 or better

pata is parallel ata (normalo IDE) where as SATA is Serial ata. A PATA hard drive will transfer stuff at a maximum of 133mb/s where as SATA is 150mb/s. SATA is defenitly better, and since the wire is smaller, it creates better airflow.

Hey there, on my Asus P4P800-E DLX motherboard, I have 4 sticks of Crucial 512MB for a total of 2G. Now, since this board supports Dual Channel with 2 sticks, how is it running when I have 4 sticks in it?? Is it dual Dual Channell, or just plain old 2G?? How can I get the most out of it? thanks
