Do we have any drummers in here?

All depends on what cymbals you actually need. I sold my kit a few years back, so haven't really paid much attention to cymbal prices. My kit had basic High Hat, Ride and Crash. When I wanted to add cymbals I just looked around for second hand. With Cymbals, second hand will usually cut it if...

    PS/2 or USB

Not all laptops have the PS2 connections, hence the USB option. In fact, I recall being really bored one night and reading the manual for my mouse, believe me, I was that bored! Anyway, the mouse is suited for both connections, but the manual actually advises to use the PS2 connection where...

    XP Freezing

I found a similar machine, although it was my brother who was turfing it, and it was kind of in his cupboard. 700Mhz and 128M RAM. Anyway, I got it home and a similar thing happened, where the hard drive would just lock up on occasion. When I opened it up, I found that the problem was a loose...

using Outlook Express at Wifi hotspot

You should check with the wifi provider that they allow port 25 traffic. I know some public wifi systems block port 25 to reduce SMTP traffic and prevent unauthorised use such as sending spam. Mail is recieved on port 110 so this is enabled as you can recieve your email. This is where I'd...

It's OK, all resolved. I used the XP disk to create a partition in the unpartitioned space. I kind of new what I was doing, just looking for re-assurance. Cheers!

    Lost disk space

That's what I did. Booted from CD. It ask to allocate size, which I set to 50GB, and then formatted. Once complete, I selected this drive to install to. I forgot to format the unpartitioned space. Should I boot from CD again and format the unpartitioned space?

    Lost disk space

here's the basic problem: I've just installed a new Hard Disk into my spare computer (80GB). I then installed XP onto this HD. During installation, I set a partition of 50GB and installed XP to this partition. The problem is, how do I locate and utilise the remaining 30GB? I was of the...

    warcraft 3---boarding goblin zeppelin

Also possible by selecting the units you wish to board, then right click on the zeppelin to send the units to it. This is the way I've always got the little fellas on board!

Help setting up a wireless network

I'd suggest looking at 3 wireless access points. One connected to the LAN port on the router, the other 2 where the laptops would be most likely placed. Assuming the router/modem is connected to the desktop machine, then this is already on the network. Add a wireless access point to the...

Outlook - Multiple Replies - Possible?

I've done the following to get around this issue. In Outlook, highlight the emails you wish to reply to (Ctrl + click each email). Once you have the selection, right click on them. In the menu, select forward items. Simply remove the FW from the subject line and send your email. Now, just a...

    Firefox d/l defaults to a:

I have a situation on my PC that occurs whenever I instigate a download within Firefox. Once I start a download, Firefox (or maybe Windows?) indicated drive a: is not ready. I click Continue, and get the message again. Click continue, and then the download occurs as normal. The default...

    so many distros....

As a linux newbie, I installed SuSe 9, and thought I had made too many mistakes as it was far too easy to install. Networking to a windows machine was done during installation, and was a breeze! SuSE uses both KDE and Gnome and includes Samba 3.0 I only took a shot at it as it was on a CD I...

    firefox browser

I had a similar problem, but it was due to the video opening in a pop-up window. I just allowed pop-ups for said site, and video was viewable. My 2c worth.
