What type of hard drive do you guys recommend the most for reliability and performance?

Also, why is it that most people say that maxtors are unreliable? mine seems to be doing quite fine and its about a year old.

they have a short life span, especially the new 16mb cache maxtors.

I'd recommend the wd 7200rpm 8mb cache drives. Haven't had a problem yet. I usually replace all my drives once they hit 3years-4years.

Also, what about setting 2 hard drives up.. i pretty much wanted to set one up for just system files and programs i use, and the other, larger, one for mainly storage. Is there a specific way i can do this or something? seems like a vague yet stupid question, but i had to install my windows on both of my hard drives in order to use both of them and we all know what pointless space xp takes up on the hard drive.
