LAN Config Question

Hi,

Alright, my friend comes over alot for lanparties. And I usually route a cable downstairs from his computer in my room, upstairs, this is a very long process and I hate routing it back up. I use wireless internet through a USB port, and my motherboard has a free LAN socket, can I route a cable from my computer to his computer ( a distance of maybe 2 feet) and successfully be able to share files and grant him internet access through my wireless? Or will this be too much trouble?

yes you can. you are going to want to use a cross-over cable to do it. im pretty sure that would do it.

you would need a crossover cat5 cable. you could also use firewire, which would be even better (ex 100mbs compared to 500 something mbs)
