What could be causing the problem. Does anyone know about the Xtreme N Dir-655? What am I doing wrong. I am running W 7 Pro 32bit. I have the Gig router, along with gig switches. My computer is a gig port. I must have to do some setting changes somewhere but am not sure where. It shows only 100 in the lan. Anyone?

What is the switch you have?

Does your desktop LAN support 1G?

If you plug your desktop into the Dlink, does it give you 1G?

I have a Linksys gigabit switch. Yes, my laptop does support gigabit. Yes, it does show gigabit when I plug it into my router directly.

Try setting the port to 1GBPS full duplex so.

under control panel, network connections, chose the LAN, go properties then up top you will see Configure

Advanced Tab, then go down to Speed & Duplex then go 1.0 Gbps full duplex

Under speed and duplex the only choices are 10mb full, 10mb half, 100mb full, 100mb half, auto.

I found the problem. At the end of the cable I have an inline coupler that goes into a keystone jack. That is where the problem is.
