Xp home Network cannot setup workgroup

I am using a Microsoft router to connect a laptop and a desktop to the internet. The desktop is the main computer through which the internet is accessed..
The laptop is connected using a wireless adapter.

Alhtough I can connect to the internet through both the computers i cannot setup a workgroup.
The setup wizard goes through fine but when I try to access the workgroup.. i cannot see the computers
