then it gives me 60 secs till it shutsdown

CPU takes 100% time for processing with no program running
the system has become dead slow.

along with this i have been getting a message from system saying

registry corrupt

somebody please help

i have not done any repair earlier

Yep blaster or a relative..microsoft has a hotfix for it as long as you can stay connected long enough to download it.

This will help you out a lot

go to start, run, type shutdown -i

Go to "Display warning for -------- Seconds"

Set it to 999999

Go to "Option"
Scroll down to "Operating System: Reconfiguration [Planned]

Add the computer and click ok.

Now you will have 999999 seconds until it will reboot which will give you enough time to do what you need to do

hi even i had the same problem but i upgraded xp to service pack2 and the problem stopped.perhaps its some windows error rather than a virus one .try it if it works for you.bye

All of the users gave a nice reply but you can Reformat the drive where you have installed WINDOWS XP and before creating a connection......please note that you have installed Norton Antivirus 2005 or any other firewall installed.
