Why is it when I play online, my ping is too high, is it My router? I have Wireless G

Can someone tell me if it is my router that needs to be replaced with a better one because when I play games like counter strike source or half life, I get kicked off the server because my ping is to high. I have yahoo DSL, My modem is a wireless G by linksys.

What are your computer specs could be you have settings on too high as well so lag other players.

what speed internet do you have?

How many hosts are on your LAN, and what kind of traffic are they putting on the WAN? Anyone doing Torrents or filesharing? If there ARE other hosts, try shutting them all down with the exception being the gaming PC, see if that has any effect....

Also, is this only with specific servers, or pretty much every server?
Do a tracert google.com command from the command prompt, and copy the results here...

You need to find out what your download/upload speed is. Go to dslreports.com and run a speed test. Post here what your speed is.
