I just built my first kinda-high-performance PC last week.
The main specs are:
Asus A8N-E Mobo
2gb Abit ram
XFX 6800 XT
Antec Sonata w/450W smartpower and air intake duct
Athlon X2 3800+ w/stock heat sinc & thermal paste
It idle my X2 runs at 28C. Not to extraordinary. My 6800XT runs at 37C. A little low for a GeForce 6 series.
However, I tried to torture test the components and monitor them with SensorView Pro.
I ran Doom3 on highest settings with Antialiasing set to 8x. Remarkable, aside from a little slow-down and relics, and performed very well at 1024x768.
However, after about 50 minutes straight, my temps seemed LOW.
My processor was bouncing between 42C and 44C (never once got above 44C) and my GPU never touched above 51C.
According the stickied temperature thread, these seem low. I know this isn't a bad thing - I just want to be sure that it's normal and that my temp sensors aren't bad or something.
