I have an AT&T DSL connection @ 768 Kbps (downstream) 384 Kbps (upstream) w/modem
I also have a Linksys WRT54GL w/DD-WRT
I know the connection is rather slow, but meh. It's the only package we can get, as the DSL length is too far to get higher speeds. Unless I go with U-Verse. (VDSL)
It started with my father's computer. He was getting a slow connection. I swapped cables, no diff. Made sure his drivers are up to date, as they were. Then i switched ports on the router that fixed it. For a time.
So now, my computer started to lag a little bit, I thought that it was browser dependent. I tried Chrome, Dragon, Opera, Firefox, even IE. No difference.
I also ran a ping to different sites, and I get 2-3 of 4 packets received.
I then reset the router and modem. Worked fine for a few hours, then went slow again.
I ran antivirus, spam/malware and Ccleaner.
Anybody have any more ideas?
