I'm far from being annoyed and understand why you are asking since that's how you learn new things. If you are able to order a new board it will likely be identical since companies only bulk order a few different model boards for each model line.
Getting the board in won't be a major project since someone with experience will know how to double check all connections and review the board's diagram to locate the correct pins for the front or top panel buttons/led lights, etc. there. Buying your own full version disk will allow you to see Windows reinstalled at any time.
Nothing feels better then when finally getting the last thing reinstalled on a fresh copy of Windows however especially on a clean drive. You'll see Windows moving like lightning for a period of time at least until the new copy gets cluttered again. I would start backing anything important up now however before making the final leap to protect anything unreplaceable.
