how do you stop utorrent checking files on so everytime i disconnect my external HD and plug it back in again it doesnt have to check every single file again

Shut Down µTorrent completely before you disconnect or reconnect the drive.

i know that but sometimes once in a million i forget and next time i start utorrent it has to check is there anyway to do it

No. Since µTorrent was still active it sees the files as being lost and has to check the intergrity of the files to make sure they are all there. There is no way around it if you forget.

I woudl like to know where. I jsut checked every setting in µTorrent and i do not see that setting anywhere.

Maybe this will work.

But that is for a good shutdown. Since you are basically removing the directory in which your files are located i dont think that will apply.

Well i have checked the µTorrent site. I have checked their forums. I have checked Google. This was the only option that presented any hope.
