So how much does having the separate card for physics actually help? Is it a real boost for modern gaming? Or is it just for folks who do rendering and solid-works stuff?
If I build a new machine with a 'GeForce GTX 295 CO-OP 1792MB DDR3' and use my old 'GeForce 8800GTS 640 DDR3' as the physics card...1. is that even possible (are they compatible in that scenario?) and 2. is it worth it?
Obviously there's no additional cost for the 8800gts since I'd already have it, but there would be "cost" in effort (not to mention consumed power, cooling, and mobo slots).
Thoughts?
