For some reason, which I have now forgotten, I installed QuickTime Alternative. The next time I launched iTunes it would not open because I had an older version of QuickTime installed.
It was very time confusing trying to fix the problem as QuickTime Alternative did not want to go away... I had to completely unistall QuickTime and the Alternative version.
So, just a word of caution... if you use iTunes, don't install QuickTime Alternative.
