USB 2 pci card

I bought a 5port usb 2 pci card recently and after I installed it,when I plug my external harddrive into it,a message pops up that tells me the device would operate better on a high speed port.When I plug the same harddrive up to my new pc it gives no such message.The old unit is a Compac with Xp and the new is a hp pavilion with Vista.Any input welcome!

This is because your old PC only supports USB 1.1, which is noticeably slower than USB 2.0

I thought that was the purpose of the upgrade card!
