Yes it is. You can put the latest i7 on there (4790k), any GPU you want, has SATA3 and USB3, and a 16x PCI-E 3 slot. With Intel boards you get all the best basic features even at the lowest end of the pole but you can still build a top end rig with the lowest end board and it'll run at 100%. The only problem with it really isn't much a problem, and that's a 16GB cap. 16GB is more than plenty for all typical users and gamers.
