I recently learned about Tynker.com- a "learn to code" platform for youngsters in third through eighth grade that teaches them how to think like a programmer. Tynker has been piloting its curriculum in around 40+ elementary and middle schools in the San Francisco Bay area, and has been receiving positive reviews from many teachers and school administrators. You can read a bit more about them on VentureBeat at http://venturebeat.com/2013/04/11/tynker

I am eagerly awaiting their next release of Tynker Premium to see what extra features they have to offer. As someone looking for a fun and intuitive way to teach my kids computational thinking to prepare them for twenty-first century careers, I'm super excited about Tynker's mission! :)
