I was wondering if you could hook your speakers that are hooked up to your tv now, to your laptop.

My dad is buying a new tv and ss system and I though about taking the speakers and hooking them up in my room. Although, Im not sure how.

I think I just have the basic sound port. So, I need to get a plug that would fit in say, an ipod.

Hello,

What speakers are these, and how are they currently set up with the TV?

Are they surround sound home theatre speakers or just stereo speakers, and are they connected to a DVD player, amplifier or decoder of some sort?

Also, what connections are there?

You just need a cable with a STEREO 1/8" plug (goes to laptop speaker output) and the other end dual RCA plugs (red/white to go into AUX input of the receiver).

You can plug it into any input you want on the receiver.

Guys, these are like boombox speakers. They are just wires that hook in the back, so no red yellow or white plugs or anything
