Well, I started off trying to use a wireless connection, and it worked, but it worked very poorly. It was very, very slow, and disconnected sporadicly. I assume this was because one computer was in the basment, and the other was upstairs in a room that wasnt built over the basement.

Anyways, I dont want to just run a wire all that ways, so I am wondering if a wall-plugged network extender kit would fix the problem!?

Or, possibly, if there is some other method I could use? I have tried most things I can think of but nothing works and what should be a simple job has turned into a a huge hassle.

Thanks!

It has been my experience that you will get better connectivity and better speed by running a CAT5 instead of wireless. Especially if you are on different levels/underground. Granted, wired limits your mobility, but it has advantages.
