I had a ubuntu disk that came with a book. I went and did an install of the disk instead of reading off the disk all the time... however there are files that are on that disk that don't get installed on the harddrive with the installation. How can I get those files off that live cd disk and put them on my ubuntu os currently on my machine?

What files? Have you gone thru the Synaptic Package Manager and installed this stuff? It should be available for install.

To hack a ISO i do not know in Linux but i know you would need ISO Buster in Windows to do it.

I guess you could just put the cd in. If it doesn't mount automatically then mount it yourself. Then copy the files to your desktop and compile the source yourself. What exactly are you wanting off of it anyway?

I tried copying the files before and it didn't work. Tried it again and no problem. Weird... I must of done something wrong before.
