So, in short: Is T9 worth learning and using?

The long version: No wait, I'm feeling a bit too lazy for that...

The medium version: So I have a phone, and I send a lot of text messages with it. I especially use them to get information from google (using google SMS), and for communicating with another tech friend of mine. My phone has T9 on it, and I was wondering if I should learn how to use it. I have a couple of friends who swear by it, and I have a couple who can't stand it. So what do you, the enlightened citizens of the internet think about it?

Wait, it's a waste of money? What's a waste of money? T9 is free, and if you believe that "time is money", then it's acctually saving you money over standard texting. =P

I have done so and I'm now very happy with it. It makes early-morning texting intelegible. Well, mostly. =P

I'm still confused about the "It's a waste of money" bit... Whassat? Nuke?

I used to use T9 all of the time on my old sanyo 8100, but now that I have a Treo 650 I really don't need it anymore. It was always better than punching the same key 3 times just to get to the last letter though.
