suggestions with iMovie

hello,

i am new to this forum, so first of all i want to say thanks for having me.

secondly, i am a fairly new mac user and i am about to delve into iMovie to edit a film for my biz. this doesn't have to be highly professional, obviously, cause i am doing it on my own ... but i would like to make it as best that i can.

first question, does anyone know how to use slow motion in iMovie?
second question (more of a statement), what does anyone who has used iMovie have as for as do's, don'ts, neat features a newbie like myself might overlook, etc.

Google is always huge help.
Youtube can be useful when you want to go through advanced stuff or even basic stuff step by step.
Also it would help if you told us what version of iMovie you were using.
