Stalker

I just bought stalker and even at the lowest settings is doesnt run well.
My computer is as follows:
AMD 3.2 ghz
1 gig ram
7600 gforce
which all seem to fit the requirements however i do use xp 64 if thats a problem. I have the newest patches for stalker and drivers for my graphix card.
Can anyone tell me why its playing so slow its basically unplayable.

First off, is that a single or dual core processor?

Also, 1 gig of RAM and a 7600 is really not enough to run the game nicely. With 2 gigs and a 2900Pro even I would sometimes get lag if my settings were too high.

Its a single core.
I'm upgrading to 2 gig ram tomorrow
however what you said it not really right I know of people who run is on 512mb and a much poorer graphics card. I ran fraps on it and i get between 100-50 fps all good and fine, however when i go into a new area it shoots down to 1 fps. That is the only problem when going to a new area or something big happens. I am hoping the extra gig of ram helps this.

Are you sure the cpu is 3.2ghz or is it a AMD 3200+.

Woops my mistake yes its a 3200+ not 3.2 ghz.
