spliting bandwith between 2 computers

hello !
My roomate and I are sharing a cable connection in my appartment, but whenever he is on his laptop, I cannot stream stuff on youtubes or even mp3s on MySpace. It is like he is eating all the bandwith, though whenever he's not on his laptop, I can stream anything without problem.

My question is : Is there a way to play with some network settings to limit somebody's bandwith to make it even on each computers?

Could it be a network card power matter?

What router do yous have. QoS IN THE ROTER SETUP should be what youre looking for.

Do you know whats eating the bandwidth?

its a wireless d-link wbr-1310. Do you have a tip to get in the QoS?
Ill check if hes downloading stuff, but I think not. All he needs to do to eat my bandwith is watching streaming movies lol

Turns out the wbr-1310 doesn't have qos by default... You'll have to switch to tomato or dd-wrt firmwares
