Hi everyone. I recently noticed my motherboard sound wasn't working, probably due to static discharge when I accidentally touched my mobo. I've ordered a Sound Blaster XFi Platinum. Until that arrives, is it possible to bypass my onboard sound and get my CPU to process the sound? Software sound? I need this to work through Windows applications e.g. itunes.

thanks in advance

and my comp keeps crashing due to 'machine check exception'...

-thanks for the wisdom tho.

check in device manager to see if you have a driver. onboard cards uses the cpu
