smoke came from my computer today

yikes!! I accidentally put the hdd activity meter led plug into a 5v switch on my mobo connectors, instead of the one it's supposed to be in, i boot up, and after a few seconds i smell plastic smoke, i rip off the front cover where i think its coming from, and sure enough, there is black smoke coming from the wire lol. Im not sure if it works anymore, i have not tried it, i don't really care for it anyway. But for a second there it scared me lol.

^there would have been no reason why it would fry my motherboard, all it would do is brun out the led. And possibly damage and cables around the cable for the led.

And no, not really a noobish moment, i was doing other stuff at the time and wasn't paying attention.

LMAO, i just tried the hdd led, and it works, it didn't even effect it, i guess i didn't let it go long enough to damage the wire too bad.

But that stuff like that gives me nightmares... not having a PC (shudders)
