And if you don't want a self hosed solution, Amcrest has a cloud video recorder for a monthly fee. Can be viewed on the desktop, Android, iOS, etc.

Think that's an indoor camera, he needs an outdoor camera.

That's a POE camera, pretty sure he didn't want to do that either.

i semi understand the POE thing, but i haven't done it at this point. i sure would not want to connect it to her brand new computer, and quick fry it to a crackly crunch.

Seems like it would sure, might wanna check some reviews first to see how the quality goes at night before you buy though.

Also, no need to worry about POE frying your PC.

Yes I'd definitely check Google for some reviews of the camera because they are usually cheap for a reason.
