I see people on here posting screenshots all the time, how do you take a screenshot of your desktop? I know its a simple question, but i hadn't really every thought about it until now.
 
Yeah, to take a screenshot, I just hit Prt Scrn, and then I pasted it into Microsoft Word. From that point, in order to upload it to the net, I saved Micro Word as an html file, which then saves the image as a gif. Usually like "Image01.gif". Then I go to rename the file, and upload it to my server. Ta da.
 
Also, if you want to take shot of some specific window, rather than whole desktop.

activate that window (means select it) and then press ALT + Print screen.

this will only copy that activated window out of whole desktop. and rest process of taking it into P&B and pasting is as same as described above.
 
I always paste my screenshots in Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0, that way I can resize, crop, and edit the file sizes :)
