Samsung Chromebook password help

Don't ChromeBooks use an NFTS file system? Why can't you just use Kali to dump the hashes and crack them. It is ethical after all.

Dunno since I've never used a Chromebook. Is the storage on it even encrypted? If not, then booting off of a boot disc of any kind (even Ubuntu) would work.

Chromebook has eMMC storage integrated. From what I understand, pics are most likely saved to Google Drive instead of on the eMMC internal storage by default. So most likely my friend can get them from her son's Google account... if Google grants her access. She has to upload documents like her driver's license or ID, Death Certificate, and a few email addresses that he has in his addressbook.

So I just did a Powerwash, Chromebook's version of a factory reset. At least this way somebody can get use out of it.
