ringtones for my KATANA

ok so i have a Sanyo Katana DLX and i want to take mp3s from my computer that i have trimmed down to become ring tones
does anyone know how i can do this?
if i put them in there as mp3s they just come up as music file and i cant use them as ring tones just listen to them,

use Audacity... first open your Mp3 with it... then use the bar and delete everything except the part of the mp3 you wanna use as your ring tone then do File, Export mp3 and save it... then put it in your phone

You have to have the LAME mp3 encoder to do what vernong said. That's free, and there are directions on what to do along w/ the audacity download.

Then, I think you have two options (possibly 3):
1. Go to Mobile17 ^^ :: Make your own Ringtones and Graphics: online, for free!, create an account, and have them send it to your phone.
2. Email it directly to your number from your computer, ie: yournumber@vzwpix.com (no dashes)
3. Put the file onto a MicroSD card, send a fake pix message to yourself, with the sound attached. Once you get the message, go to Options > Save Sound/File/Etc...
