restart p.c problems

hi ive recently built a p4 3.0 ghz p.c on an ASUS motherboard. P4S800..

everything seems ok and im running windows xp on it. However when i click restart the computer. or when the computer tends to restart. it powers of instead. and i have to go through BIOS to get it running on windows again..

is there any way of getting round this problem as its very annoying.

go to www.tweakxp.com and you will find tweaks for windows xp, including how to make windows xp load and shut down better. have you tried the windows xp "classic" look, in the control panel -> users area?

same problem with my cousins intel, fixed with repluggin the ide cables
