Intel's Centrino 2 processors (of the Montevina platform) will start appearing in laptops at the end of Q2 but this will be just the first wave of releases which is set to continue in Q3 when a quad-core mobile processor will be introduced.
The first mobile quad-core part will be part of the Core 2 Extreme line-up and will be named QX9300. Likely to be released in September, the QX9300 will not kill off the X9100 dual-core as it will have a higher price tag - $1,038. Featuring a TDP of 45W, the 45nm-built QX9300 has four cores clocked at 2.53 GHz and 12 MB of L2 cache
