Quake 4 setup problems

I just bought Quake 4 and since I installed it, I got a big fat dialogue which at the end says "Error during initialization". I'll include the full message at the bottom of this post.

I've run it before on my computer, so I know my specs are good enough. Since this problem, I updated my Nvidia drivers and got what I believe to be the latest updates, and as a matter of fact the problem has gotten even worse: now when I used to get the dialogue, I get the all-too-familiar "So-and-so has a fatal error and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Any help?

Or do you mean use the disk for my video driver that came with my computer? Becuase I already reinstalled Quake 4, but I'll have to contact my manufacturer for the disks that came with my computer, are you saying that's what I should do?
 
hey I don't know if it helps any but I downloaded the q4 demo earlier in the day, installed it a few ago and ran with some errors. Read around and thought because I was running Vista and it was wanting Opengl that that was my wall.

Had your same end string errors...

This was hitting the shortcut...on a whim I right cick the main exe, run as admin...and it works. Don't know why of course, prolly cooky coding

might give you some direction to go in
