Puppy linux has boot error- Read only file system

I installed Puppy Linux on an old computer (Pentium 1, 64MB RAM, 5GB HDD) and when I boot from it, it loads GRUB, and I select Linux (on /dev/hda1) and it proceeds to boot. But then, it hits a spot and stops. It keeps constantly displaying this:

/usr/X11R7/bin/xwin: line 35: /tmp/kbdextlayout.txt: Read-only file system

What is up with this thing!...
