Potentially the longest thread in history...

Sluggish (not FPS) and to finish the game you need 100% sync on all quests.

^^ I've done that twice with my eVGA 465. This is why, I leave the **** on 100 all the time.

Re: Today I have...

Today I finally got around to fixing the RRoD on my xbox. Had one T8 screw that wouldn't cooperate. Never thought I'd take a drill and a hammer and flathead screwdriver to my xbox to get a **** screw out.

I assume the 465 cooler is much quieter, because the 470 fan drives you up the wall on anything above about 85, i mean 80 is bad enough but i can just about cope with it if i turn game volume up.

According to iphone, 50db on 63% (MSI Auto mode) and 63db on 100percent. That's too loud for a pc..

Re: Today I have...

Had the same problem with our Elite. It was a unit that was modded before we got it. Guess every noob needs to Arnold something on to feel manly.

What was your RRoD problem? Ours is the ANA chip.

Nope 470 and 465 are exactly the same card besides a few different things on the 470 (RAM and Shaders). I can do a DB test of my whole machine hang on.

Re: Today I have...

Well I did the x-clamp mod and that fixed it.. I really didn't want to take the drill or the hammer to it, but I decided that it needed to be done.

Uhh a real SPL meter.. i'm not to sure i'm reading it right. But if i am, thats crazy loud.

74db right next to the PC. That is also with a window unit cranked in the background. About 66db where I sit in front of my monitor. It's not to loud because I'm used to loud PCs. Here in about a week it's going to get even quieter because I'm going back to air cooling.
