Potentially the longest thread in history...

Ok I had a question and instead of jacking some ones thread, I decided to ask here.

A friend of mine claimed that maxing out games kills the graphics card. Is that true?

in the same way that existing kills you (we have limited lifetimes)

Definitely I understand what your saying. But let me put it this way.

He stated that he used to max out BF2 with his 3850 and get like 60FPS with ALL the eye candy. Then like 6 months down the line, he was getting half the FPS.

there's alot of variables to work with here...

how much exactly does he play... i don't thikn a graphics card is meant to run full blast for 10 hours a day

and..... has he reformated or anything anytime recently

also... how is he so sure its not sometihng like his cpu bogging down or his ram or sometihng along that line

i've used a 1 and a half year old 6800gs and never have i encountered problems of it dying down

and also.. my friend is still using my 8800gtx from almost exactly 1 year ago and having 0 problems of the nature
